Poem #10

Young girl seeking an affectionate, established and confident woman to groom, strengthen and teach her life skills, morals, self-love, respect, guide her through spirituality, help her understand female anatomy, human sexuality, and how to exist above social constructs.

Poem #9

Awake your electric fiery force,
Evolution and ascension is at stake.
Be ye wise as serpents,
Let the inner reptile activate.
Do not postulate or speculate the existence of,
But let your Kundalini force invigorate.
Enliven your senses, see with new eyes
As the spiraling fire of etheric bodies situate
Perfect positions, the elite coming to obliterate.
Dormant forces, ancient deities, arise and populate.
Fill the universe and ready the inactive to perpetuate.
Not reactive, but proactive, forward to migrate.
Upward to the crown, flowing let it irrigate.
Force centers coiled, surprises within,
Let it reiterate, resonate, reverberate,
Please concentrate, awake fiery forces,
Evolution and ascension is at stake.

Poem #8

I kiss thee upon your royal crown
Bald, tapered, wavy, curly, dreaded or faded
Marvelous and majestic, all heads bow down

Afro, kinky, flowing, untamed or braided
It is so royally you and I love every bit of it
Bald, tapered, wavy, curly, dreaded or faded

Your majesty, his highness, lord, god, all a perfect fit
Soft, smooth, rough, luxurious textures to the touch
It is so royally you and I love every bit of it

No matter how you wear it, spiked, slicked back or such
I am loyal to the crown twisted, combed or shaved
Soft, smooth, rough, luxurious textures to the touch

Be bold your Excellency and never let your locs be enslaved
Free you mane, natural and envied , with strong roots like a tree
I am loyal to the crown twisted, combed or shaved

Your symbol of sovereignty, revel in what God bestowed upon thee
This glistening crown adorned with jewels, a glorious earth tone
Free you mane, natural and envied , with strong roots like a tree
Beautiful and masculine, regal and divine, a gift to you alone

Poem #7

I can't take this pain anymore
To live on like this I just can't be sure
If I should creep, move a little closer to the edge
I could end it all with a toppling blow to the head
Let the headlines pronounce, "Mother of four dead"
"I can't believe it," and "I didn't know" they all said
You, them, and they never looked, never paused or cared
Never offered a kind word or held me when I was scared
Right here, right now, I could make the pain go away
But I see my children's faces and don't know what they'll say
Who will offer them a kind word and care for them when I go?
Second thoughts pulse through my body from head to toe
Heart pounding, panicking screams swarm through my head
And then I slowly, silently move back from the ledge

(For any mother who ever contemplated suicide)

Poem #6

Words choked the life from him.
A chicken crossed the road to save him.
His hands balmy, his tongue soured like lemons, gasps barely escaping his throat
Watching him slump to the ground and the smell of a lifetime of rigor mortis arise.

The light beam of words pierced him first when he crowned from his mother
And stunned his body through to his soles, inked onto a contract illegible to him.

A mister Malcolm mistaken for nobility of northern Scotland.
Yet my brother, King of Uptown, creating life with his words.
Long live the King!

Finances of finessed wages, meager, waging war
A raging war sprouting lilies in the valley.
Cloth talk and words upon words.
The vibrant flowers of bravery.
Blossoms scarcely showing across the land
With concealed hues unrecognizable to the amateur eye.

Words, incantations, evocations;
Arise, long live the King!
He is ascended from his sleep, alive and well.

Charlie is here to greet you, to bring you word.
Do take care to those words that loom the wire.
What you hear is true.
The suspicions, fears and insecurities of mortals wrapped in fabrications.
These conversations will attack, they mastermind your demise.
Backroom chats with mind boggling, gut wrenching, unfathomable words.
Words that haunt, that kill, that lurks for you.

Behold the black lilies of the valley,
Tarnished by the drought of the seasons and winter refreshing.
“Guantanamera!”
Words, incantations, evocations;
Arise, oh lily.
Take up your roots;
Pack your fears and heartbreak in your knapsack
And leave this place.

Letters, uttered, body ravaged, air seized, subdued

Lies, characters, murmured, faulty inscriptions, choking.

Poem #5

April 5, 2017

Dear reader,
Life remains as you last knew it. Time changes nothing. The human is still fixated on pleasures, overindulged with science that attempts to manipulate the matter of our existence, void of purpose and trying to play God.

Take care,

C. Cunningham

Poem #4

Out of 5.8 billion, the Fearless Girl remains
Young girls are a symbol of power
A link between hope and the potency of women
Executives, companies, boards, Wall Street
Encouraged, advocates, confident, experienced
The Fearless Girl perpetuates the city
Larger than the affects of men, of money and discrimination
She has not limit, never gives up, and is permanently

The most powerful
