I am what I am

I am what I am,
Or, I am that I am.

They don't want me to put my fist in the air.
They say if I wear my hair standing on end with a tight curl I can't work here.

They don't want to see the inked artistic expressions on my body.
They don't want to see my inked artistic expressions from my body.

They don't want to read the truth of my ink.
They don't want to hear what I think.

Well, that's too bad for mister Jim.
And that's to bad for the rest like him.

I am who I am,
Or, I am that I am.

I am the curriculum developer that educates your children.
I am the developer that masters the music that you copy.
I am the cultural icon who fashions the clothes that you copy.
I am the genetically thick hipped, full lipped, muscle ripped species that you pay to copy.

I am who I am,
Or, I am that I am.
